WV Daily COVID Update for January 20, 2022 (WV DHHR) - there are currently 15,687 active COVID-19 cases statewide. There have been 14 deaths reported since the last report (1-19-21), with a total of 5,590 deaths attributed to COVID-19. DHHR has confirmed the deaths of a 64-year old female from Raleigh County, a 65-year old male from Braxton County, an 81-year old male from Mason County, a 78-year old female from Wood County, a 78-year old female from Marshall County, an 82-year old female from Raleigh County, a 77-year old female from Marshall County, an 86-year old male from Wood County, a 47-year old male from Raleigh County, a 71-year old male from Grant County, an 86-year old male from Marshall County, a 78-year old male from Mineral County, a 73-year old female from Wood County, and a 66-year old male from Putnam County.

“It is critical that we increase our vaccination rate for all eligible West Virginians, particularly children and teens," said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. “If you are hesitant, please reach out to your child's physician to learn more about COVID-19."
