The Weather Channel is now warning of a significant ice threat from the Southern Plains to the Mid-Atlantic starting early Wednesday morning that will stretch from Texas to Delaware over a period of several days. The area of ice will be sandwiched between snow to the north and heavy rain further to the south. The ice will make for extremely dangerous travel conditions and parts of Arkansas and Tennessee are expected to see the highest ice accumulations. Forecasters says a second winter storm is set to sweep from the central Plains into the Northeast later this week, with a third storm potentially brewing for this coming weekend. AccuWeather reports the storm at the end of the week could bring another 6-12 inches of snow for some part of the Northeast with some areas getting up to 24 inches.
