1. KNOW YOUR FLOOD RISK. Go to West Virginia Flood Tool and enter your home address to assess its flood risk.
2. GET FLOOD INSURANCE, since home insurance does not cover flooding. Do it now before a flood disaster.  
3. Safeguard important documents. Store them in a waterproof container and create password-protected digital copies.
