State to Hold Briefings for West Virginia Public Disaster Assistance Applicants

 

harleston, W.V. – harleston, W.V. – The state has announced a schedule of six briefings for West Virginia applicants for FEMA’s Public Assistance Program following the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides of July 28-29, 2017. FEMA’s Public Assistance program provides supplemental federal assistance to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments and certain private non-profit organizations for the repair and restoration of public infrastructure after a disaster or emergency issued by the President.
 
The state hosts and leads Applicant Briefings to provide an introduction on how the disaster assistance process works. FEMA staffers will be on hand to help answer questions.  The schedule is on the following page.
