National Hurricane Preparedness Week is April 30-May 6, 2023.  Sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the campaign raises awareness of the hazards posed by hurricanes. It encourages citizens throughout the country to learn about and be prepared for hurricane season.

Hurricanes are not just a coastal problem! Impacts from wind and water can be felt hundreds of miles inland, and significant impacts can occur regardless of the storm's strength. 

So don't delay, Take ACTION TODAY!  

Find Out:

  • Do you live in an area prone to flooding?
  • Do you live in an evacuation zone?
  • What types of wind and water hazards could happen where you live?
  • What are the structural weaknesses in your home?

Take the time to understand your risk from hurricanes and begin pre-season preparations now. Make sure you understand how to interpret forecasts and alerts. Know what to do before, during, and after a storm. You are encouraged to prepare before hurricane season begins on June 1.
