The FEMA Individual and Community Preparedness Division is accepting applications for the Youth Preparedness Council. It was created in 2012 to bring together youth leaders interested in supporting disaster preparedness and making a difference in their communities by completing disaster preparedness projects nationally and locally. The Youth Preparedness Council (YPC) supports FEMA’s commitment to involve America’s youth in preparedness-related activities. It also provides young people an opportunity to present their perspectives, feedback, and opinions to FEMA staff. YPC members regularly meet with staff and attend the annual YPC Summit.

If you know a teen interested in preparedness and community service, encourage them to apply. The online application process is opened from January 18 through March 7, 2021. Students must complete their applications by 11:59 p.m. PT on March 7.

Learn about the YPC and application process on the upcoming webinar Wednesay January 27 at 2 PM ET.
