FEMA to distribute more than $36 million nationwide for state-led disaster recovery programs (WTOV 9 news) - OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. — Federal disaster recovery funding totaling more than $36 million is being distributed nationwide to support state-led recovery programs following recent disasters, according to FEMA.
In West Virginia, more than $900,000 has been approved to help communities recover from the June 2025 flooding. Officials said the funding will provide critical resources, including disaster unemployment assistance and counseling services for people impacted by the floods, and will cover the process of finding case workers.
SBA disaster loan deadline approaching for West Virginia small businesses (My Buckhannon) - The Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to offset economic losses from the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides that occurred June 14-15, 2025, according to a press release from the SBA. Deadline for application is April 22.
The declaration covers the West Virginia counties of Brooke, Harrison, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Taylor and Wetzel, as well as the Ohio counties of Belmont and Jefferson and Washington county in Pennsylvania.
