At least 9 dead in crashes across Dallas-Fort Worth area due to winter storms

Freezing rain and ice are responsible for accidents that killed at least nine people across the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Thursday. CNN reports a 133 car accident during the morning rush hour killed at least six people on I-35 and injured at least 65 others. Three people were killed on other Dallas area roads. Over 300 accidents were reported overnight. One official says, "This is an incident that our agencies train for but hope and pray that never happens." The accident is under investigation but black ice is suspected. The Weather Channel reports deadly accidents were reported from Texas to Tennessee and into the mid-Atlantic as motorists dealt with hazardous road conditions and power outages.
