Video: Charleston Pet Prep Event Success!

"Go Bag" for pets were handed out with the first 20 adoptions at the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association during the April 26th Pet Preparedness Event. The bags were prepared by Volunteer West Virginia and Ready West Virginia. Items were donated by PetCo, Foodland, Kroger, and Target. The idea of pet preparedness began when emergency responders noticed that during Hurricane Katrina, people would not evacuate without their pets. As West Virginia has experienced a water crisis, and a derecho, more pet owners see the need for not being caught off guard. See more about pet preparedness at #petpared.
